I played violin for about six years, before college, graduate school, and research became my focus. However, mid-college I took a year off and during that time I taught myself guitar based on what I could remember from violin.
Since college I always had a guitar with me (and occasionally played). It wasn't until 2014 I decided to get serious and take formal lessons.
Recently I had the opportunity to work/record with Dave Marchione and John Mahon (The Elton John Band). Year 2020 will be remembered for a lot of bad things, but because of the pandemic and quarantine it afforded me the great fortune of working with these two accomplished musicians. Not only are they great musicians, but great people to work with.
My guitar influences include Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Buckethead, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, and Al Di Meola. Songwriters who inspire me include Bob Dylan and John Mayer. I enjoy listening to Metal, Rock, Jazz, Folk, Flamenco, and Trumpet concertos
